Our Practice

Located in the countryside halfway between the historic city of Canterbury and Faversham town, Ingrain Architecture was co-founded by Chris Palmar and Phil Ward in 2020.

We are individuals…

Chris and Phil are highly creative and design focused individuals, who apply a collaborative approach to the process through discussion, sketches, and modelling to create innovative concepts and solutions.

Our work is informed by a responsiveness to location, context, local materials, and climate to develop our designs. We strive to create spaces that are as striking as they are functional, whilst maintaining a level of practicality that address our clients’ varying needs.

We are a team…

As a practice, we are very conscious about the important role we play when it comes to managing our client’s budgets, timeframes, and other external influences. We take pride in being able to put their minds at ease by carefully guiding them through each stage of the project at a comfortable pace. There is no secret to how this achieved, it’s simply a case of listening, being honest and being pragmatic.

As individuals we are conscious of our impact on the planet and strive for a better future for the next generation. We strongly believe in incorporating this ethos into our designs as these values are close to our heart.

Ingrain Architecture is an RIBA Chartered Practice, which brings with it a level of reassurance that our work is of the highest quality.
